Summer Camping – Family Style

So just about every summer, for the last four years or so, my husband’s family gets together to camp for a few days. This means eight adults and eight kids(ages 5-17). The last couple of summers we found our sweet spot(Thanks Jason!) up at La Wis Wis Campground inside the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. There is an amazing group camp spot right on the Ohanapecosh river.   It is less than thirty minutes up to Mt Rainer National Park(I will write about our drive up there in a later post).

Two summers ago, we had the fun idea to give all the kids a disposable camera to shoot with while we were there. I had no idea how these would turn out.  When I got them developed it was such a fun surprise. They took some great shots and since they are on film it really made it look like photos from my childhood. Here is a sampling:

I should have done it again this year, but alas I cannot remember everything. This year though my husband filmed some and put this together:

Watching the kids grow from year to year and being a part of this family is so special. I cannot wait to see what the next couple of years bring.
