So this past summer I reached out to my fellow moms at Door of Hope and suggested we take a little camping trip with just the kids and us(no dads). I put it out there thinking a few might respond but we ended up with nine mamas and fifteen littles. The weekend was full of chaos and laughter and luckily no major injuries.
We took over several spots next to and around each other at Cape Lookout State Park. We had cookouts, campfires, and “relaxed” on the beach. We hiked and found agates and went through three outfits a day. We even had a group of bandit raccoons that just wouldn’t give up on breaking into our food. They even managed to work the zipper on a bag cooler. What an adventure. I cannot wait to plan this years trip. Big shout out to my fellow adventuring moms and the wonderful hard work of motherhood.
